Now Viewing - Early 2012

Decided to jot down my current list of animes I follow, in case anyone is interested in finding some new stuff to watch:

Ano Natsu de Matteru - A romantic comedy/slice of life style show, from the dude who did Onegai Sensei and Twins. They apparently have nearly the same storyline, alien lady meets boy, romantic conflicts arise between them and friends from school, etc. Almost every episode ends in a way that you want to see the next, recommended if you liked Toradora, Lovely Complex, or Special A, however this one has a bit less comedy than those just mentioned.

Aquarion Evol - Mecha/romance type deal. Different teenagers who have “element” powers or something can fly these 3 special ships that transform into a large robot. People from space are attacking. Kind of reminiscent of Star Driver, or Eureka Seven, although I’ll admit, both of these have more interesting stories/characters to me.

Area no Kishi - Soccer anime, but probably for the slightly older crowd (i.e. not like Inazuma Eleven). Your typical sports anime, very gripping first few episodes, I’ll admit it started off incredibly interesting. Similar to Eyeshield 21 or Prince of Tennis.

Daily Lives of High School Boys - Comedy/slice of life. This one is hilarious. It’s like Lucky Star, but for boys, and a lot funnier. Dramatic situations made out of ordinary life, first episode is kinda weak but it gets better the more you go in. Recommended for fans of School Rumble, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and Cromartie High School.

Fairy Tail - Not new, but I’m still watching and enjoying this one (along with the manga). Typical battle/comedy anime set in a fantasyish time. Wizards and superpowers battling evil guilds. I guess like Naruto but sans the ninjas? :P

New Prince of Tennis - Tennis anime, similar to above. Mainly watch it since I saw the first one. Still incredibly exaggerated and junk, but amusing enough to keep up with it. xD

Nisemonogatari - Surreal/Psychological/Supernatural anime. This one was incredibly confusing, I had to look it up on Wikipedia and found out it’s a sequel to another anime. The animation is great, as well as illustration, storyline is interesting although probably confusing at times (probably should watch sequel first). It has a very unique style with it’s constant cuts and angles. I can’t really say I’ve seen anything like this one before.

That’s all for now. I also watch Gintama/Sket Dance (comedies) once in a while, very funny shows but kinda lose track since there’s a lot of episodes. As for American stuff, I think I only watch Adventure Time. o_o And am possibly gonna start with this Transformers: Prime show.
